THE LEARNER. Effective Educators carry high expectations for their students and develop lessons that will engage and challenge them. Their classrooms are places where positive interactions occur between the Educator and student and between student and student. Effective Educators understand how their students’ learning develops and plan instruction that is appropriate and individualized to meet the students’ academic needs. The effective Educator creates a safe, respectful, and academically challenging classroom for their students.
THE LEARNER. Work based learning will allow the learner to acquire credit for undertaking specific learning activities which reflect your interests and job situation. The primary capacity for learning rests with the learner. In proposing a Learning Contract you undertake to: Discuss the strategy for work based learning with the module leader and the representative of the employing organisation Develop and agree the Learning Contract with other people who may be involved as appropriate eg your colleagues Undertake the agreed learning activities, take responsibility for any actions and seek advice and assistance when necessary Arrange and attend meetings/ tutorials with the module leader Collect evidence for the learning that has taken place and complete an eportfolio of evidence of learning and reflective review by the submission date 2 THE MODULE LEADER The module leader will assist the learner in the preparation of the Learning Contract and help to evaluate the learning which takes place. The module leader/supervisor will: Assist the learner in the fulfillment of the Learning Contract. Review the plan in terms of feasibility and consistency with the credit sought Help the learner to determine the appropriate evidence needed to demonstrate the learning if requested Provide advice, support and guidance to the learner, the mentor and the employer throughout the period of learning Evaluate and assess the learning for the purpose of awarding academic credit
