Safeguarding Children. The welfare and protection of our children is paramount and consideration should always be given to whether the use of photography will place our children at risk. Images may be used to harm children, for example as a preliminary to 'grooming' or by displaying them inappropriately on the Internet, particularly social networking sites. For this reason consent is always sought when photographing children and additional consideration given to photographing vulnerable children, particularly Looked After Children or those known to be fleeing domestic violence. Consent must be sought from those with parental responsibility (this may include the Local Authority in the case of Looked After Children).
Safeguarding Children. Working Together Under the Children Xxx 0000 sets out how all agencies and professionals should work together to promote children’s welfare and protect them from harm. All Board staff delivering the Service as part of this Agreement must attend child protection training relevant to their role and responsibilities. The Board must also ensure that copies of the All Wales Child Protection Procedures are made available to all its staff involved delivering the Service as part of this Agreement.

Safeguarding Children. LA School/Governing Body • The LA’s Named Officer for Safeguarding Children can offer advice and guidance to the School’s Safeguarding Children Co-ordinator /Headteacher and the Governing Body’s Designated Governor for Safeguarding Children. • The LA will offer level 2 training to the Chair of Governing Body and the Designated Governor for Safeguarding, in relation to safe recruitment and the procedures to be followed if there are allegations against members of staff. • The LA will arrange specific training to the School’s Safeguarding Children Co- ordinator on a regular basis. • The LA’s Named Officer for Safeguarding Children will audit the Safeguarding policies of each school on a yearly basis. • The Governing Body must nominate a Designated Governor for Safeguarding Children; the School must have a named member of staff with responsibility for Co-ordinating Safeguarding Children within the school. The Named person with responsibility must be known to all staff. • The Headteacher will ensure that the Chair is informed of the allegation and will invite the chair to attend Strategy meetings under Section 5 of the ‘Wales Safeguarding Procedures,’ where safeguarding allegations/concerns about practitioners and Those in positions of Trust are considered. The Co-ordinator for Safeguarding Children/Headteacher will also be invited to all Strategy meetings. • The Chair and Designated Governor for Safeguarding will be expected to attend level 2 training so that they are conversant with their role and responsibilities. • The School’s named Co-ordinator must attend level 2 training so that they are conversant with their role and responsibilities. • All Governors are encouraged to attend level 1 training. Safeguarding Children. 3.1 HAC will ensure that robust procedures are in place to ensure the safety of children participating in activities. All adults working with children as part of these programmes will have appropriate training and safeguarding checks. Coaches will hold appropriate coaching awards for the opportunities delivered.
Safeguarding Children. 23. It is understood that the Pre-school is under obligation to report to the relevant authorities any incident where we consider a child may have been abused or neglected. This may be done without informing the parent / carer.
Safeguarding Children. The Children Act (CA) 1989 provides the legislative framework for agencies to take decisions on behalf of children and to take action to safeguard them from abuse and neglect. Everyone must be aware that in situations where there is a concern that an adult at risk is or could be being abused or neglected and there are children in the same household, they too could be at risk. Reference should be made to the local child protection procedures and the Local Safeguarding Children Board inter-agency guidelines and internal protocols dealing with cross-boundary working if there are concerns about abuse or neglect of children and young people under the age of 18. The Local Safeguarding Adults Board and Local Safeguarding Children Board in all Local Authority Areas covered by this Policy are committed to close working to improve safeguarding practice. The Boards need to engage with each other to ensure both children and adults services work together to safeguard both children and adults at risk.

Safeguarding Children. It is the responsibility of everyone to keep children safe. Every child has the right to be protected from harm and we have a legal responsibility to ensure that this over-rides all other responsibilities. Children should not be subjected to neglect or physical, emotional or sexual abuse. If any worker recognises any such safeguarding issues he / she will make you aware of the concern. They will then inform their manager; child’s social worker (if applicable) or make a formal referral under the Herefordshire Safeguarding Children’s Board procedures. If the incident is serious the police will also be informed immediately of the concern.
