Fire Service definition

Fire Service means any deployment of firefighting personnel and/or equipment to extinguish a fire or perform any preventative measure in an effort to protect equipment, life, or property in an area threatened by fire. It also includes the deployment of firefighting personnel and/or equipment to provide fire suppression, rescue, extrication, and any other services related to fire and rescue as may occasionally occur.
Fire Service means any organiza- tion in any State consisting of per- sonnel, apparatus, and equipment which has as its purpose protecting property and maintaining the safety and welfare of the public from the dan- gers of fire, including a private fire- fighting brigade. The personnel of any such organization may be paid employ- ees or unpaid volunteers or any com- bination thereof. The location of any such organization and its responsi- bility for extinguishment and suppres- sion of fires may include, but need not be limited to, a State, city, town, bor- ough, parish, county, fire district, fire protection district, rural fire district, or other special district.
Fire Service means the Queensland Fire Service in existence immediately before the commencement.

  • Where an employee has accepted a temporary position with the City, including the Regional Fire Service or Regional Water, but outside the bargaining unit, through the job competition process (Article 12), he or she will maintain their seniority up to and including a thirteen (13) month period, and the employee shall be required to continue to pay Union Dues during such period.

Fire Service means the engaging in the directing or management of emergency response activities, fire safety prevention inspection, plans examination, fire investigation, hazardous material response, technical rescue response, airport rescue response, airport rescue firefighting, fire service instruction, and the enforcement of the general fire laws of this state and the communities therein by fire service members and organized fire departments and public safety departments.
