No enforceable legal positions result from the supervision agreement. The original version of the supervision agreement has to be handed in at the office for doctoral studies. Supervision Agreement. Ombudsperson During the first semester, you will have a provisional supervi- sor. This person is the first point of contact for questions con- cerning your doctoral project. You should attend his/her doc- toral colloquium. In the case of research or personal differ- ences, you can change supervisor during the first semester without any administrative procedure. The supervision committee consists of the supervisor, one advisor from BGSS faculty and one external advisor from an- other German or international university. The supervision committee decides on the acceptance of your curricular mile- stones at the end of the first and the second year. Please sign your supervision agreement with your supervisor during the first semester. It outlines the rights and duties of the doctoral researcher and his/her supervisor. It also states the grounds for dissolution of the supervision contract. If you have problems with your supervisor, you should con- tact the BGSS administration as early as possible and in case of conflict the BGSS Ombudsperson. All concerns will be treated confidentially.
