District Professional Development. The District believes that in order for staff to fulfill their professional responsibilities, they must have opportunities for ongoing professional development in support of district, school and individual improvement. Effective professional development enables individuals, groups and the organization to improve instructional capabilities in ways that increase student performance and success. Professional development should:  Focus on individual, collegial and organizational improvement;  Respect and nurture the intellectual capacity of staff;  Reflect the best available research and practice in teaching and learning;  Enable teachers to develop further expertise in subject content, teaching strategies, instructional practices, use of technology, and other elements for teaching to high standards;  Promote continuous inquiry and improvement embedded in the daily life of school;  Be planned collaboratively by representatives of those who will participate and facilitate that development  Be evaluated on the basis of its impact on student learning and performance Employee staff development activities may include, but not be limited to the following areas:

District Professional Development activities must qualify as Professional Development by meeting the State definition for Professional Development and be in concert with the District Educational Plan. These activities are agreed to and scheduled by the Joint Council for Professional Development and are intended to meet the Professional Development needs of the District.
District Professional Development. The Professional Development Committee will be responsible for planning the professional development for the District’s Administrators.
District Professional Development. To show our appreciation of your business, SSG offers our school district clients and their staff access to Elevate “U”, our district PD platform, at no cost. Select recorded webinars, which are eligible for ASHA, AOTA, NASP, and/or BACB CEUs and CPDs and Nursing Contact Hours, will be made available to you and your special education staff three times throughout the school year as part of our SSG District Partnership Program. These courses can be done either individually or in a group setting. We also provide opportunities for districts to request workshops that are customized to the specific needs of the district. We can discuss options for personalized trainings and events hosted by SSG that can be live or pre-recorded. All our Elevate “U” offerings also come with dedicated technical support for users on our platform and provide an opportunity for participants to track courses completed within our system. In 2022 alone, we offered 300 districts access to our exclusive webinars, with employees earning over 1,000 CEUs/CPDs/PD Contact Hours through our Partnership Program. Access to Elevate “U” through an SSG partnership offers tremendous savings to districts for PD when compared with PD subscriptions services that charge districts based on number of users. Our commitment to your district includes PD at no additional cost to your district.
District Professional Development. Each employee shall receive a supplemental contract for three (3) days to be compensated at per diem rate. The purpose of the supplemental days is for certificated employees to participate in District directed professional development activities. 2017-18 Proposed Days (including calendar adjustment, last day moved to Thursday June 14, 2018):  August 30, 31 – already worked  March 16 – Technology ½ day and individual collaboration ½ day (in alignment with building SIP (schoolwide improvement plan) Employees will sign in and be compensated in the month following the days worked. No leave (sick, professional, personal, etc.) will be granted. Learning Improvement Days formally funded by the State, if reinstated, will replace these days/hours.

  • Professional Development 9.01 Continuous professional development is a hallmark of professional nursing practice. As a self-regulating profession, nursing recognizes the importance of maintaining a dynamic practice environment which includes ongoing learning, the maintenance of competence, career development, career counselling and succession planning. The parties agree that professional development includes a diverse range of activities, including but not limited to formal academic programs; short-term continuing education activities; certification programs; independent learning committee participation. The parties recognize their joint responsibility in and commitment to active participation in the area of professional development.

  • Professional Development Leave A. Policy. Professional development leave shall be made available to employees who meet the requirements set forth below. Such leaves are granted to increase an employee's value to the University through enhanced opportunities for professional renewal, educational travel, study, formal education, research, writing, or other experience of professional value, not as a reward for service.

  • Professional Development Program (a) The parties agree to continue a Professional Development Program for the maintenance and development of the faculty members' professional competence and effectiveness. It is agreed that maintenance of currency of subject knowledge, the improvement of performance of faculty duties, and the maintenance and improvement of professional competence, including instructional skills, are the primary professional development activities of faculty members.

  • Professional Development Fund A budget item equal to one-half (½) of one (1) percent of employees' salaries shall be set aside annually to be used to:

  • Professional Development Funds 23.1.1 Two Professional Development Funds, a Professional Development Support Fund and an Education Leave Fund, shall be established to support professional development activities as defined in 23.2. On April 1st of each year, the College will allocate an amount equal to no less than 0.9% of total faculty salary (exclusive of severance payments) to the Professional Development Support Fund, and an amount equal to no less than 0.6% of total faculty salary to the Educational Leave Fund. Any unused balances in these funds shall carry over to the next budget year.
