Classroom Visits. Unit Members shall have the option of using one (1) day per year in order to visit another classroom inside or outside the District, with a substitute provided by the District, when acceptable arrangements are made with the principal.
Classroom Visits. (i) In assessing a faculty member's teaching performance the Vice-President, Academic and Research may arrange for classroom visits by an assessor who is a faculty member of Associate rank or higher, and has been chosen with the agreement of the faculty member concerned.
Classroom Visits. Credentialed evaluators shall conduct an evaluation of each teacher. Classroom visits for the purpose of evaluation will not be made on the day before Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Spring Break, or the day after a teacher’s absence due to unplanned illness, unplanned personal leave, or an emergency situation. Prior to the first observation of a teacher in his/her first year of employment with the District, an individual pre- observation conference is required. Such conference shall afford to explain the evaluation process and expectations. A teacher receiving an effectiveness rating of “Accomplished” on the teacher’s most recent evaluation will have one (1) formal evaluation every two (2) years which includes a minimum of two (2) observations and periodic walkthroughs once every two (2) years as long as the teacher’s student academic growth measure for the most recent school year for which data is available is average or higher. A teacher receiving a “skilled” rating on the teachers most recent evaluation will have one (1) formal evaluation every two (2) years which includes a minimum of two (2) observations and periodic walkthroughs once every two (2) years as long as the teacher’s student academic growth measure for the most recent school year for which data is available is average or higher. The observations will be neutral and non-participating. The purpose is to record objectively what goes on in the classroom particularly in relation to teacher identified needs and goals. Teachers with approved leaves of absence for fifty percent (50%) or more of the school year, or teachers whose notice of retirement is board approved by December 1 will not be evaluated.
Classroom Visits. Arrangements shall be made with administrators for teachers to visit classrooms within the system and may arrange, if feasible, to visit other school systems as an aid to professional growth and improvement at their grade level and subject matter field.
Classroom Visits. Arrangements for classroom visits other than for evaluation purposes should be discussed with the teacher. Where practicable, such discussion shall be initiated by the Principal.
Classroom Visits a. Each Teacher Evaluation Report shall be based on at least three (3), and normally not more than eight (8), comprehensive visits which reflect the teacher’s assignment. The teacher shall have the opportunity to select two (2) classroom visits, which may be included in or in addition to the eight (8). The classroom visits for the purpose of preparing the Teacher Evaluation Report can occur at any time during the school year, recognizing that visits in September, June or during the first twenty (20) teaching days of a change of assignment should occur only in extreme situations. Evaluation visits will not occur just prior to, or immediately after, Christmas, Spring Break or during days in which school-wide events are being staged.
Classroom Visits. (a) One or more members of the Review Committee shall visit the classroom of a Faculty Member under review for the purpose of observation of the Faculty Member’s teaching.
Classroom Visits. The policy of the District is to invite parents to be involved in their students’ education and encourage classroom visits. At the beginning of each school year, prior to September 15th, the District will review with employees the policy and procedures regarding classroom visits in order to ensure a safe learning environment.
Classroom Visits. NON-DISTRICT EMPLOYEES To provide non-district employees the opportunity to visit classrooms with the least interruption to the teaching process, the following guidelines are set forth:
