After Promotion. An employee who is promoted but fails to complete his/her probation as provided for in Section 14.3 shall be returned to his/her former wage range and treated as if the promotion had not occurred.
After Promotion. Employees promoted to supervisory positions or positions not subject to Agreement will retain their seniority after promotion for a period of one hundred and eighty (180) calendar days only, If demoted for any reason or if they voluntarily request reinstatement to their former position, the time served in the supervisory position shall be included in their seniority rating. When the employee cannot be contacted or is employed elsewhere, then the Company will notify the employee by registered mail to his last address to return to work and he will be allowed no than seven consecutive days from the date of notification to report for duty; if he takes employment other than that and agreed upon when applying for a leave of absence, if an employee is absent from work without a leave absence for more than three (3) consecutive working days; Section (cont.) if an employee is laid off and not recalled for a period extending twenty-four consecutive working months or if such employee requests and is paid any statutory termination benefits, whichever comes first; if an employee is laid off in excess of thirteen weeks and requests his severance pay, he w i l l be paid in accordance with the Canada Labour Code on the pay day following his request. Section Leave of Absence Provision A leave of absence excess of thirty (30) calendar days or an extension to an existing leave that will exceed in total thirty calendar days will not be granted until a request for same i s submitted in writing to both the Local Union and the Company, and is mutually agreed upon in writing. After Promotion. Any employee who is promoted shall be given a reasonable period, not to exceed three (3) months, to become acquainted with the job and to demonstrate ability to fill the job satisfactorily. If during this trial period the employee demonstrates unsatisfactory ability for the job, or the employee determines the job is not satisfactory, the employee shall be returned to the employee’s former job without loss of seniority.
